From September 26 to January 14, the Musée du Quai Branly spotlights the Indian film industry, the world’s largest. With its historical and political dimensions, this exhibition is a must-see to develop and deepen your understanding of Indian independence and nation-building, while admiring works of art, historical objects and projections.
3-Chéri Samba, contemporary African art
Jean Pigozzi has loaned his diverse collection of works by Chéri Samba to the Musée Maillol. Chéri Samba has been an emblematic artist for over 40 years. expresses, through colorful art, committed messages about geopolitical and social issues. The artist, born in Congo in 1956, quickly became a rising star in contemporary art and an ambassador of “popular painting”, which consists in provoking and denouncing through figurative paintings. The exhibition features over 50 paintings, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the depth and diversity of Chéri Samba’s world. Explore his vision of Africa and the Congo, and be carried away by his commitment to tradition and innovation. Women play an important role in his art, and he paints things as they are, always using a realistic approach. Discover Chéri Samba’s unique social approach and let yourself be carried away by the color and originality of his works from now until April 7, 2024 at the Musée Maillol.
4-Lumières en Seine, a third edition as magical as ever
This year, the immersive experience takes place at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, in an impressive light show spanning over two kilometers. Available until January 7, 2024, let yourself dream and embark on an enigmatic and magical journey perfect for children and adults alike. Luminous trees, magical water lilies, a ballet of fairies, every corner of the park is seen as marvellous and will transport you far away from ordinary everyday life. The show uses 100% reusable LED lighting, making it an eco-responsible experience. It’s an experience to share with family, friends or lovers. 5-Mark Rothko at the Fondation Louis Vuitton
Until April 2, 2024, admire the exhibition of private collections by an 18th-century artist, now seen as a pillar of Abstract Expressionism.
