Villa Borghese is Rome’s most majestic park. The villa once belonged to Cardinal Scipione Borghese.

A gift from the Emperor Hadrian to the Pope, it is the best-preserved monument in ancient Rome. It currently houses a church, mausoleums for high-ranking Italian figures and the dome, and admission to the Pantheon is free for visitors. All of which makes it a key tourist destination in Rome, if only for the preservation of the building.

Roman Forum & Palatine :

It was the ancient center of Rome, and you can admire archaeological sites, the triumphal arch, ancient temples and other major constructions commissioned by the various Roman emperors. Not far from the forum, you’ll find the Palatino, home to the excavation sites of the imperial residences.

Castel Sant’Angelo :

Castel Sant’Angelo dates back to the 2nd century. The castle was an important fortification in the city of Rome’s defenses, where clergy and popes could take refuge in case of need, and was linked by a tunnel leading straight to the Vatican. A bronze statue was erected at the very top of the castle in honor of the Archangel Michael, who is said to have appeared during the plague epidemic that ravaged the town in the 6th century.

The Vatican :

A visit to the Vatican is a must, whether you’re a Christian or not, if you want to make the most of your stay. Go to St. Peter’s Square and marvel at the columns and Basilica of St. Peter. You’ll also find the famous Sistine Chapel and the ceiling fresco painted by Michelangelo. You can also visit the various Vatican museums, to immerse yourself in the history and art of Christianity and Italy.

The Baths of Caracalla are Roman remains that reveal the bathing habits and rituals of the Romans. It was an activity for the wealthiest Romans, and was seen as THE luxury spa of its time.

The Trastevere district :

It’s a popular district that allows visitors to immerse themselves in traditional Rome. This district is made up of a multitude of narrow streets with authentic architecture, and numerous bars and restaurants, perfect for a break during the day or a lively evening out.
