Twelve miles that can swallow a whole morning if you get them wrong: the RER C connection, the fifteen-minute walk from the station, then the queue. With a chauffeur you leave from your own address and step out at the entrance to the estate.

The estate is not just the palace. The Grand and Petit Trianon and the Queen’s Hamlet sit a few kilometres away, at the far end of the gardens. A full day therefore means either a great deal of walking or a pickup point different from the drop-off point — which is precisely what a chauffeur makes possible.
