Paris → Normandy
Normandy is not one destination but several, spread across two hundred kilometres of coast and countryside. The first useful conversation is about which Normandy you mean.
Barely an hour from Paris. Monet’s garden is a half-day outing, not an expedition, and it closes for the winter season.
Around two hours. A harbour town, the Norman seaside resorts and the cliffs : comfortable as a long day, better with a night.
Nearly three hours each way to the Bayeux area. Done as a day trip it means six hours in the car — possible, but we rarely recommend it.
Ninety minutes, a cathedral city with a compact centre that works well as a single stop or on the way further west.
The sites are spread along some eighty kilometres of coastline. Omaha and the American cemetery at Colleville, Arromanches, Pointe du Hoc, the British and Canadian sectors and the museums in between are not a single stop but a full itinerary.
Visitors who care about this history are usually better served by an overnight stay than by a single very long day. If a day trip is the only option, we will plan a realistic short list with you rather than promise everything.
Battlefield guides are booked directly by you ; we do not provide guiding and do not claim any affiliation with the memorial sites.
A chauffeur in Normandy is hired by the day rather than by the journey. The car stays with you, waits at each stop, and the order of the day can change on the spot if a site takes longer than expected or the weather turns.
We agree a departure time from Paris, a realistic list of stops and an expected return. What we do not do is publish a guaranteed schedule : the motorway west is usually straightforward, but Friday afternoons and holiday weekends are not.
Not properly. They are far apart and each deserves its own day. We would rather lose the booking than sell a day spent almost entirely in the car.
No. We provide the vehicle, the chauffeur and the logistics. Guides and site tickets are arranged by you, and we plan the driving around them.
Giverny, a half-day. Honfleur or Rouen, a full day. The landing beaches, a very full day or, better, two days with a night on the coast.
Yes, with flight or train tracking, and luggage carried for the whole day if you are continuing elsewhere.
See Paris to Champagne.
Tell us the date, your pickup address, which part of Normandy interests you and the number of passengers. We reply with a realistic itinerary and a firm quote.
